Whitby Goth Weekend

The biannual alternative festival

Whitby Goth weekend is a biannual event that takes place in the quiet sea side town of Whitby in the North-East of England on the last weekend of every April and October. Goths from all over the world don their finest lace and corsets and gather here to celebrate goth culture in its variety of forms, through gigs, alternative craft markets and to climb the famous 199 steps to the abbey.

One of the many reasons why Whitby has been sought as the prime location for this festival is due to it being the setting for a large part of Bram Stokers Dracula... a classic horror novel from 1897.
