Herbal tea is not really tea, as it does not contain leaves or leaf buds from tea plants. Herbal teas are made from tisanes, which are blends or infusions of dried fruits, flowers, spices, or herbs in water. Most of these blends don’t have caffeine. Herbal teas like chamomile, peppermint, and ginger tea offer several health-promoting properties and could help improve heart health, digestion, sleep quality, and more. There is evidence to suggest that herbal teas can have medicinal properties. Often, herbal tea beverages marketed with "herbal tea benefits" are nothing more than sugary juices. Be informed as a consumer. Some herbal teas offer health-promoting properties and have been used as natural remedies for centuries.

Dieticians recommend herbal teas in moderation with medical approval as they can pose some risks to individuals with certain health conditions. Be sure to avoid herbal teas that may contain added sugar and other additives. It is not recommended to use herbal tea as a substitute for medical treatment.
