Choral Music

Melodies of the Heart

Choral music, music sung by a choir with two or more voices assigned to each part. Choral music is necessarily polyphonal—i.e., consisting of two or more autonomous vocal lines. It has a long history in European church music.
Choral music refers to music written specifically for a group of singers, known as a choir or chorus.
It typically involves multiple vocal parts, such as soprano, alto, tenor, and bass, singing together in harmony
.
Choral music can range from sacred music, such as hymns and religious anthems, to secular compositions, including folk songs, madrigals, and contemporary pieces. Choral compositions may be accompanied by instruments or performed a cappella (without instrumental accompaniment). Choral music is often characterized by rich harmonies, dynamic contrasts, and expressive interpretation, and it holds a significant place in both classical and contemporary music traditions.
