breed of native pony that originates from the
Connemara region of Co. Galway, Ireland .
Connemaras are prized for their hardiness, agility, extraordinary
jumping ability and temperament, qualities that have made them popular
ponies for children and adults alike.

They are sure-footed, with compact athletic bodies making these super ponies excellently suited to jumping events. In 1935 at the International Horse Show in Olympia London, the 22-year-old, 15 hand Connemara gelding, The Nugget, cleared a 7'2” jump and subsequently won!
