Some form of Pasta has been around since the Etruscans, but it has evolved over centuries to become the pasta we know today. There is evidence that the Etruscans had a form of fried pasta that was adapted in different regions of Italy, becoming the pasta we recognise in the 13thC. Contrary to popular, made authentically with wholesome ingredients, it is a healthy staple in Italian households. On average it was estimated that an Italian eats around 30kg of pasta every year, yet have some of the oldest living people in the world. An authentically made tomato sauce, for example consists of the best San Marzano tomatoes, celery, carrots, onion, olive and basil.
