Instructions for using a breadmaker:
Microwave the water for one minute before adding to the breadmaker. Add
the flour, sugar, powdered milk, and salt. Make a small divet in the
middle, and add the yeast in the middle. Cut the butter into four parts
and place one in each corner. Start the breadmaker. When the dough is
ready, shape into a loaf, rolls, or whatever type of bread you prefer.
Let it rise for 30-60 minutes. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
Instructions for making it by hand:
Microwave the water for about 30 seconds and check the temperature. When
the water is between 100°F and 110°F, add 1 tbs of the sugar
and the yeast. Mix it in and let it sit for 10 minutes. While the yeast
is proofing, mix together the flour, the rest of the sugar, the powdered
milk, and the salt. Melt the butter, then add it and the yeast mixture
to the dry ingredients. Mix well, then knead for 5-10 minutes. Let the
dough rise for one hour, or until doubled in size. Knead it for another
5 minutes, then place in loaf pan. Let it rise for another 30-60
minutes, then bake at 300°F for one hour.
