In my opinion albums are curated for the intent to be listened to in full. I suppose it could stem from the past of having multiple acts or parts in a full movement but in a modern context it still reigns true. Short interludes and songs that blend perfectly together are not a simple coincidence and why cannot it be appreciated in its totallity. Why must we enhance every experience to perfectly suit our taste, why must we reduce music to our taste only? Why not listen with an appreciation of the whole album? No in this day and age we must draw the line at what we do not 100% ascribe to because everything must suit ourselves. To no fault of our own, 'our' in the consumer sense, we are propelled into the landscape of consumerism by a paradox of tolerance. We must fix what we deem we do not like, even in matters of subjectivity, but we must be tolerant of everything. I suppose to be compiled into the message of, treat everything equally unless you don't like it.
