Cybercrime

Do you know the difference between a scam email and a genuine one? Phishing is a way cyber criminals trick you into giving them personal information. They send you fraudulent emails or text messages often pretending to be from large organisations you know or trust. In 2023 alone, more than 22,500 people in the UK had their social media or email accounts hacked, with victims losing a total of £1.3 million. Phishing is the most common form of cyber crime, with an estimated 3.4 billion spam emails sent every day. Google blocks around 100 million attacks a day - with Millennials and Gen-Z internet users being most likely to fall victim to phishing attacks.
