Every blackout cupcake I've tried were insanely rich in chocolate flavor. These cupcakes have a moist dark chocolate cake, and usually have a chocolate pudding or ganache filling, topped off with a rich dark chocolate buttercream.
Fun Fact: This delicious cupcake, derives from the
Blackout cake. This cake was invented during World War II by a Brooklyn
bakery chain named Ebinger's, in recognition of the mandatory blackouts
to protect the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Blackout cake, is sometimes called
Brooklyn Blackout cake.
