The Bridgerton series revolves around an eponymous fictional family and is set in the competitive world of Regency era London's ton during the social season in the early 1800s where marriageable youth of nobility and gentry are launched into society. The first season debuted on December 25, 2020 on the Netflix platform. The plot is largely taken from a set of eight 21st-century novels by author Julia Quinn.
