One of the most vibrant markets that I have ever experienced is the
Yaowarat Market, in Thailand. The Market that only opens in the evenings
till late at night, it is located in one street of Chinatown, that has its
own name. It has been called by many travel’s magazines as a foodie
sanctuary because of the diversity and deliciousness of products
available. The street is inundated with food carts and restaurants
offering Thai and Chinese cuisine options for all sorts of palates and
also, decorated with red lights hanging from the light poles like typical
Chinese lanterns ornaments. One of the highlights was definitely the
seafood sticks stalls with huge amounts of squid, octopus, and shrimps
ready to be grilled or steamed in a spicy soup. Another spotlight was the
Michelin star restaurants selling chef’s specialties in the street at
affordable prices witch made us stop for a bite. The famous red duck
noodles are a
“must try” and I am sure you will not be disappointed. Amazing
balance of sweet salsa, savoury noodles and tenderness of the duck. The
night ends with one or a few of the extensive arrange of desserts
available. From bubble teas in milk, mango sticky rice to end with the
start of the night coconut icecream in a real coconut base.
