Chicken chow mein is pobably already one of your favourite Chinese
takeout. This one-pan dinner is so satisfying with chicken, vegetables,
classic chow mein noodles, and the best homemade chow mein sauce.
Ingredients you will need for the noodles:
Chow mein noodles
Vegetable: Carrots, cabbage, green onions and bean sprouts. These
vegetables can be replaced with some of your favorite vegetables like
celery, brocolli, spinach, etc. I also like to toss in some mushroom
when I have some. Be creative!
Chicken breast which can be swapped out for beef, tofu, pork or any
other protein that you may want
Ingredients for the BEST Chow Mein Sauce:
Soy sauce
Light sesame oil
oysteer sauce
granulated sugar
Cornstarch
Chicken broth
Now that we have all the ingredients we need to make this dish that will
have your tastebuds tantalised, it is time for me to tell you how to
bring everything together and make this dish.
How to Make Chicken Chow Mein:
In a small bowl, mix the ingredients for the sauce: oyster sauce,
sesame oil, soy sauce, chicken broth and cornstarch, set aside.
Cook noodles according to package instructions, set aside.
Heat a large wok or pan and a little bit of vegetable or olive oil.
Season the chicken with desired spices and add to the oil. Cook until
golden brown and set aside.
To the same wok or pan, add all the vegetables excluding the green
onion and saute for a few minutes until they are slightly soft.
Add the chicken back into the pan, together with the cooked noodles
and pour in the sauce right on top. Cook for about 2 minutes fully
coating the noodles and veggies with the sauce.
Add the chopped green onion and remove from the heat. Just like that
it is time to SERVE the goodness!
