Pencil drawing, drawing executed with an instrument composed of graphite
enclosed in a wood casing and intended either as a sketch for a more
elaborate work in another medium, an exercise in visual expression, or a
finished work.
Sketches can be made in any drawing medium. The term is most often
applied to graphic work executed in a dry medium such as silverpoint,
graphite, pencil, charcoal or pastel.
The difference between pencil sketch and portraiT are
SKETCH : A sketch is a freehand drawing of literally
anything. Which is not totally finished. In short it is a raw work.
PORTRAIT : Portrait is the Artwork/Photograph
which shows only Face, and areas upto shoulders.
