All about Fiddle
and why it's different from violin
Fiddles and violins are the same instrument but the
difference in the term refers to the type of music played on each.
Violin is usually assocaited with a classical and jazz styles of
playing whereas a fiddle is generally the word used for bluegrass,
celtic and old time music to name a few genres. To summarize, the
instruments are the same but the type of music and the manner in
which they are played are different.
