A few years ago, my daughters decided that French macarons were the most delightful thing they could put in their mouths. While I've been baking since I was quite young, it wasn't something that I had ever pursued. In the interest of my pocketbook (and sanity) I initiated a quest to make these finicky delights in my own kitchen. Two years and hundreds of eggs later, I could finally say that I mastered them. I would have been better off just continuing to buy them! They've become a staple of my hobby baking business and I am known as the "macaron mom" at my youngest daugther's school. The teachers look forward to my signature brown lunch sack used to transport the delicate delights.
