Knitting

"Knitting is the saving of life." - Virginia Woolf

Bella's Mitten

I can't remember why I decided to teach myself how to knit, but it was during a depressing time in my life. The community I found and the mindfulness required by the activity helped me get through some of the darkest days. Perhaps it gave my hands and my mind something to focus on other than despair. Perhaps it was something I could excel at when I didn't feel like I was able to excel at anything. One thing I know from my experience is that people who can make things with yarn and their hands are delightfully unique and oft have an earnest kindness about them.
