Called an “incredible horn player” with “perfect sound” by
MaineToday, and a “local horn virtuoso” by the
Bangor Daily News, Emma Stanley is a soulful,
seasoned performer on trumpet, piano, and voice. Based in Portland,
Maine, Emma plays locally and regionally as a solo artist and with
multiple groups, currently including
Gina & The Red Eye Flight Crew ,
The Fogcutters,
Native Isles, and
OC and the Offbeats. Throughout her vast experiences touring nationally and
internationally (most recently with Jesus Christ Superstar) and
performing with world class acts (such as
DIVA Jazz Orchestra, The Manhattan Transfer, Cyril Neville
of The Meters, and John Popper of
Blues Traveler) she has developed her own unique sound and
style over the years. In her original project, backed by some of Maine’s
finest musicians, she draws from influences such as Roy Hargrove, Erykah
Badu, Olivia Dean, and Jennifer Hartswick to create a clashing of
genres, walking the line between jazz, pop, funk and fusion producing a
sound that is distinctly her own. Emma has toured with Broadway
Productions off and on for the past 12 years. Shows include
Monty Python's Spamalot (over 650 performances),
Annie (over 200 performances),
Jesus Christ Superstar (over 400 performances). Prior to that
she worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines playing big band, jazz and
production shows. She represented the USA on Jazz trumpet in the
Singapore National Youth Olympics in 2010. She has performed in all 50
states, parts of Canada, 5 other continents and still counting!
