🤎 COFFEE 🤎
✨ aka the brown gold ✨
The term "coffee" is derived from the Arabic "Kahwe" or "Qahwa",
which means vitality or strength.
It is one of the very likely most consumed beverages around the globe. Some people can not imagine starting their day without it, others only drink it occasionally and some can not stand the taste at all.
Me, I can not imagine LIFE without it. A personal life motto of mine
is:
First I drink the coffee, then I do the things!
It can be served hot or cold, brewed to be stronger or lighter, have a chocolatey or nutty base, or even a hint of citrus fruits. It may very well be the beverage with the most variety in serving and flavor options.
Everyone recognizes a roasted coffee bean, but you might not recognize
an
actual coffee plant. Few people know the beans are actually developing
inside of a cherry. Regardless of ones personal opinion about it, coffee
is part of
many curlutres, in a special way.
No one knows exactly how or when coffee was discovered, though there are
many legends about its origin. Coffee grown worldwide can trace its
heritage back
centuries to the ancient coffee forests on the Ethiopian plateau. There,
legend says the goat herder Kaldi first discovered the potential of
these beloved beans.
The story goes that that Kaldi discovered coffee after he noticed that
after eating the berries from a certain tree, his goats became so
energetic that they
did not want to sleep at night.
Kaldi reported his findings to the abbot of the local monastery, who
made a drink
with the berries and found that it kept him alert through the long hours
of evening prayer. The abbot shared his discovery with the other monks
at the monastery, and knowledge of the energizing berries began to
spread....
