Imbolc

Celtic Holiday on February 1

Imbolc is an ancient Irish tradition that occurs midway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. It marks the transition to spring. The Celtic Goddess Brigid has a strong connection with Imbolc and the seasonal change that occurs around this time. Christianity later incorporated Brigid into their teaching and it is thought that she became known as Saint Brigid.
