Munich is the capital of Bavaria, a state in the southeast part of Germany. You may recognize the name "Bavaria" from bavarian pretzels, which originate in southern Germany. Pretzels🥨 aka Brezels are a staplefood in Germany along with bratwurst🌭 and beer🍺 aka bier. These are among the many foods that you will find at Oktoberfest, which takes place mainly in the month of September. When people think of Germany, one of the first things that comes to mind is Oktoberfest and rightfully so because it is one of the biggest celebrations of the year. Christmas time also brings many celebrations in the form of Christmas markets, which Munich is also known for. These markets typically last from the beginning of December through Christmas. While Munich is typically known for its food and celebrations, it is also beautiful in many other ways.
