Sometimes overlooked as a form of exercise, walking briskly can help you build stamina, burn excess calories and make
your heart healthier.
You do not have to walk for hours. A brisk 10-minute daily walk has lots of health benefits and counts towards your 150 minutes of weekly exercise, as recommended in the physical activity guidelines for adults aged 19 to 64.
I have done a few challenges over the years. The most mentally challenging walk was a 52mile continous walk through the day and night with no sleep! The other was 100km along the Jurassic Coast, UK- beautiful scenary but very hilly!
The next challenge will be Snowdon in Wales!
I find it relaxing, and benefits my mental health, hugely. Plus, you get to see some lovely countryside and sights whilst getting some fresh air.
