No one knows when exactly knitting started, knitting is considered one of the oldest crafts in the world. Yarn is estimated to be as old as 20,000 years old! With a variety of needle sizes and yarn sizes projects can vary from thin and delicate lace, to warm and cozy socks, and on to big and chunky blankets.
You can get started in a variety of ways. If you are a self learner, the internet is full of resources and kits. Ravelry is a great pattern resource for all levels. If you are an in-person learner, you should find your local yarn shop and see if they are offering classes. If there are no structured classes, the shops knitting group is a great place for tips and small assistance. To join the weekly group hosted at my shop, click the join button below to get in touch.
