What is a Comprehensive Eye Exam?

Comprehensive eye exams not only checks your vision, but also the health of your eyes. Generally, people will see an Optometrist for this. The Optometrist will use various chart tests and machines to figure out if you need corrective lenses like eyeglasses or contact lenses. For more serious eye disease care like, Cataracts or Macular Degenartion, a patient would normally see an Opthamologist, a medical doctor who diagnoses and treats all eye diseases. Most children and adults should get a comprehensive eye exam at least every 1 to 2 years depending on your age and recommedations from an Optometrist.
