introducing my friends 🌏

and their quirks

Hibiki πŸ™

My Japanese bestie in the driver's seat is probably the best old school hiphop dancer you will meet in a while. And he is as humble about it as he is tall (he's around 165cm). He is also the heaviest light-weight one can be when it comes to drinking, so when we're out, we usually have to take care of him afterwards. But he's my Didi (which means younger brother in Chinese), so that's okay.

Lucie πŸ₯

Lucie is my French roomie who will have the dirtiest mind in the most innocent moments. She also manages to stumble on the most even of roads. Wether she is clumsy or just chronically unlucky we have not established yet - however, she did break her phone AND lose her credit card in the first 24 hours of arriving at Taiwan, where she'll stay for a year.

Merijn 🌷

Yes, his name is not an easy one to read. It is also not an easy one to understand due to his very heavy Dutch accent. He studied Sinology, because he once saw a Chinese movie and thought it was cool. He is very tall (the one in the middle seat, in case that's not obivous) and additional to Chinese he also speaks Cantonese, (questionably) Japanese, (kind of) German and (arguably) French.

Adam 🧧

To be fair, that is not his real name. He refused to tell us his Chinese name for a whole while because we will butcher it trying to pronounce it. He is Taiwanese and as our local, he regularly takes care of the problems we encounter on this island on the daily. I pay him back in coffee for his services. He is genuinely scared of sauces, but Ketchup seems to be ok.

(in case you couldn't guess - I'm the one in the yellow sweater πŸ’›)
