Mindfulness

Practing mindful meditation

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us and meditation is the process of taking our attention away from the world outside and focusing it within ourselves. It is an ancient practice that is still practiced today.
While mindfulness is something we can all naturally possess and regular practice makes it more accessible to us. Being mindful is bringing awareness to your thoughts and emotions or to what you're directly experiencing through your senses. There's emerging evidence that when you educate your brain to be aware, you're literally modifying the physical structure of your brain which can help with your mental health.
