Brief introduction


Japanese tea ceremony or in other words 茶道, a way of tea is an unique art form. From name it might sound that it is only about drinking tea, however each move and utensil used is carefully thought of.

For first steps, you'll need cha-wan, cha-shaku, cha-sen, notice how those utensils have cha in them. Cha sound comes from Japanese kanji , which means tea.

There are many ways to perform tea ceremony. One of the simplest is obon tenmae, obon means tray tenmae means in tea ceremony performing act. It is a good one to learn as you don't need tea ceremony room for this as seen on the image above.
