Arabica coffee originates from Ethiopia and is the most widely
consumed type of coffee in the world making up some 60% of the
world's coffee production. Arabica beans have a smoother, sweeter,
and more nuanced flavour than other coffee types, with notes of
fruit, chocolate, nuts, and caramel. They are also lower in caffeine
and more acidic, making them less bitter and easier to drink.
Robusta Coffee ☕
Robusta originates from humid lowland forests in tropical areas of
Africa, from Guinea to Uganda and Angola, growing in numerous forms
and ecotypes. Despite its flavour being considered less refined,
Robusta is widely used in espresso blends because it is known to
produce a better crema than Arabica. It is hardier, more resistant
to disease and produces better yields. It also packs more
caffeine!
