Sewing is like riding a bicycle. At first, it can be a little bit overwhelming, but after you learned the basic steps, there is a lot of fun to it. I started sewing to have a hobby in common with my mother. I fastly realised that sewing could increase my creativity, but most importantly, have an impact on the ecological side of fashion industry. Sewing makes me feel empowered because I know how to make clothes, I can choose what I want to make, with the fabric and the design that I want. It takes more time to have a garment, and this is an opportunity to appreciate a lot more what you wear. You know the effort that you put to make it and it feels satisfying. You realise also that maybe, we don't need a wardrobe with a lot of clothes, that are sometimes made with a bad fabric quality, but can totally have a smaller wardrobe with clothes that you make and appreciate them more. You depend less on big companies who sometimes do not care about the well-being of their employees, and this can be a game changer.
