Cycling in London is one of the best ways to commute. You can avoid the worst parts of the sweaty central line during rush hour and get your cardio in at the same time! London is a very big city and you can take your road bike on the rail network to break up your journey. However road bikes aren't always allowed on some parts of the TfL tube network . As someone who lives within the tube map, a great solution for me was to get a foldable bike.
Foldable bikes are really practical and versatile. Unlike road bikes, you don't need to lock them outside, you can just take them wherever you want and store them under your desk at work or in the cupboard at home. They can be folded up in about 30 seconds like this:
Foldable bikes are really fun to ride and make it easier to explore a city as big as London. I use Strava to keep track of my routes, timings and distances. My favourite ride so far has been in central london from White City to Fitzrovia.
Unsure which bike to get?
