HOW TO ENJOY PARIS

[like a Parisian]

Travelling is great and discovering new countries and their culture is very exciting. However, touristic places can easily become boring, too crowded or just too cliché. That's the reason why I want to share my tips on little-known places that I love in Paris, having been born and raised here. Hope you'll enjoy!

Art Galleries & Museums

One of my favorite thing about Paris is its cultural wealth. There are so many ways to enrich your stay there with art. I could suggest the Moulin Rouge or the Louvre, but my point is to tell you more about places tourists don't know. I love going to a street art gallery called "59 Rivoli" - a big building with 30 contemporary artist studios which used to be a squat a few years ago. Another one of my favorite is "L'Atelier des Lumières", where classic piece are exhibited in an immersive way through music and videos. A unique experience! My last recommandation would be the Bourdelle Museum composed of the sculptor's real workshops.
There are plenty of other museums and art galleries in Paris that are lovely and very interesting - Google is your bestfriend!

Cafés

You just walked for 3 hours and now you want to rest. Or maybe you just woke up and want to start your day with the first rays of sunshine and a nice breakfast. On the terrace in summer. Inside in the winter. What better than going to a nice little café with a family atmosphere? My first choice would be "Fragments" because it's very calm and sweet in a very busy but beautiful neighbourhood.
If you're a fan of cats, you will want to go to the "Café des Chats" . Lastly, "The Used Book Café" is a very orginal tearoom, with delicious pastries.

Nightlife

Paris has a very large potential for partying. There is someting for every taste and it was quite hard for me to pick only three places for this. If you want to spend a chill night but still impress your date with a fancy place, the bar "Lavomatic" was made for you. Unsual entry, great cocktails and cozy seats. If you want to spend a fun night with friends and you like to sing (not saying you sound good...), the VIK karaoke bar is the choice you need to make! And finally, if you're looking for a wild night, I'd suggest the "Espit Chupitos" bar for a huge range of shots and then one of the clubs of "La Cité de la Mode".
Bonus: La Belleviloise also has great events in its amazing halls.

Restaurants

Do you want to eat traditionnal French cuisine? Go to "La Cantine" or "Chez Albert" and savour it!
If you want to go for something more international, you have the king's choice, as the French say. I have to recommend my ultimate favoriite Sushi Restaurant Toyama (Metro Alexandre Dumas 75011). I can also only advise you to go to "Hoct&Loca" if you want to enjoy a tasty, chocolaty and hearty brunch.
Bonus: "Ground Control" is an amazing place with everything you need to spend a great day, eat, drink, laugh, play and learn new things. Check the website!

Wandering

Paris is also the perfect city to have nice short or long walks, no matter the season. "La Coulée Verte" is my little favorite, as it is very green and can last for as long as you want. Second would be the "Père Lachaise" cemetery, which is much less gloomy than it sounds! If you're looking for something more romantic, you can have a walk along the Seine on the "quais de Saint Paul", to admire the sunset on the bridges.
