Audrey Hepburn was a Belgian-born British actress known for her radiant beauty and style, her ability to project an air of sophistication tempered by a charming innocence, and her tireless efforts to aid children in need.
She is best known for her roles in films such as Roman Holiday (1953), Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), and My Fair Lady (1964). Hepburn is one of the few actresses to win an Emmy, Tony, Grammy and Academy Award. Recognised as both a film and fashion icon, she was ranked by the American Film Institute as the third-greatest female screen legend from the Golden Age of Hollywood, and was inducted into the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame. The actress devoted the final years of her life to humanitarian work. In 1992 she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
