One of the most interesting event that happened in my life was that I
joined my university's marching band. I joined the 2 weeks training
camp where I learned everything that I needed to know to become an
active member of the band. A few days after completing the camp, I
straight away joined one of the band's annual show with my new friends
and the seniors. I spent a lot of time in the band for 3 and a half
year by always going to the weekly trainings, joining events and
participate in any shows and competitions.
Funny thing is that when we were given the time to choose an
instrument, I picked Trombone as there are only a few
people that choose that instrument. Eventhough I never know what
trombone looks like at that moment, my thoughts were that it will be
easier for me to gain a spot as there will be less competition.đ
One interesting thing about trombones is how they extend and
contract.Trombones are played by holding the instrument to your lips
with your left hand, gripping the brace right in front of your left
hand with your right hand, and sliding the slide back and forth.

I was always asked by other members on how do I know where the note is when playing the trombone. I think a lot of people are curious as trombones is a bit different than other brass instruments. However, once you know the position of the notes, it is very simple to understand! Read more about trombone slide position
