What is Netball?
Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players. Games are played either indoor or outdoor.

This is an invasion game that focuses on team work, passing and shooting.Also, it is a non-contact sport meaning you cannot come into contact with another player. It is played with a netball on a rectangular court, which is divided into thirds with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is for teams to pass the ball around and to score more goals than the opposing team. Each team must have the following players:
- Centre(C): This player is allowed in every area of the court except the two semi-circles.
- Goal Shooter(GS): A shooter’s main aim is to get the ball into the net and score points.
- Goal Attack(GA): They help the GS score points, and catch any rebounded balls that miss the net.
- Wing Attack (WA): This player can play in the centre third and their attacking third (but not the semi-circle!).
- Wing Defence(WD): Wing defence is the position that tries to stop the ball from reaching the third of the court they are defending.
- Goal Defence(GD): Goal defence is allowed in their opponent’s attacking third (including the semi-circle) and the centre third.
- Goal Keeper(GK): They are only allowed in their opponent’s attacking third and their job is to defend the net and stop them scoring points.
