The nature of play and the accompanying interactions are
fundemental to the successful social, emotional and physical development
of children. Play is such an important part of a child's wellbeing that
it has been recognised in the
United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
as a right for every child.
Play, in all of its forms, is hugely beneficial and has a positive
impact on the future life of every child. Allowing children to have the
time, space and permission to play supports a child's understanding of
their world and the world of others.
