West Coast, North America

Redwoods on slope with ferns

What are they?

The coastal forests of Giant Sequoia and Coast Redwood are home to the tallest and largest trees on the planet. These forests store more carbon, from the atmosphere, than any other forest ecosytem and support life found no where else on earth. Millions of years in the making these beautiful and facinating primeval forests are under constant threat.

Once the old-growth forests presiding over more than 2 million acres, but now retains only 5% of that area. Small protected areas, far disconnected from eachother, are all that remains of what was once a massive ecosystem. These places are home to the worlds tallest and greatest trees, along with all the animals that depend on them.

Go and visit, learn to love the forests but remember to
PROTECT THE REDWOODS.
