The Black Cat: Myths and Magic
Exploring the Hidden Magic in Cat Tracks
Cats are considered mystical beings in several cultures, linked to dreams and the protection of energies; there is even the belief that while they roam around the house they free the spaces of bad vibes without your family noticing.
The fame of cats in magic took greater strength since the Middle Ages, where they are linked as the loyal companions of sorcerers. Some historians consider that the origin of this legend is due to the fact that people with botanical and physical knowledge and high standards of hygiene were catalogued as sorcerers or witches, for them cats were their method of pest control and for that reason, they took care of them with pleasure. It was Pope Gregory IX who began the persecution of witches and cats.
We know that there is no evidence that proves the eventual magic, good or bad luck that cats transmit, however, what we are sure of is that they are special beings that have the ability to transmit calm through their purr, and that come into people's lives to teach them to love without compromise, to respect spaces and not to expect anything in return. You can't force a cat to love you, it is he who chooses to do it and get closer to you.
