Different types of melons.

Melons are sweet and fleshy fruits. Interestingly, the word "melon" can refer to either the plant or the fruit! And botanically, a melon is a kind of berry, specifically a "pepo". It is believed that melons originated in either Africa or Southwest Asia (More specifically, Iran and India) and then they began to appear in Europe. In Argentina we have Honeydew Melons, Canary Melons and Watermelons, however, there are a lot of diferent varieties and families (Genus) of melons all over the world!
