A colorguard team is made up of performers that perform choreographed routines that always involve at least one
of the following equipment such as the rifle, saber, and flag. Colorguard teams can be found at many middle and high
schools, colleges and independant teams across the country and even in Japan!
It is considered a performing art
and most of those who are in the program would consider it a sport. It takes a lot of training and physical labor
to be able to perform for anytime between 3 minutes up to 15 minutes consecutively.
During the fall season,
Colorguard teams may perform a field show with the marching band during half time shows and during winter through
April they may perform in a colorguard compititon competing against other teams for that first
place trophy. It takes more than stamina to be able to be successful in this sport, you must also be able to act, dance,
and keep rythym.
