If you are anything like me, you like the idea of WoWing people with your amazing cooking skills. However, you probably lack the time, the patience, and well, the actual skill.

clumsy girl in kitchen

I have a couple of go-to recipes that are strong enough to carry the weight of my expectations and this is definitely one of them.

Before you start freaking out because no human being in today’s society has these many flowers laying around, I got you girl. Not only do I not have a garden either, I also wouldn’t have the patience to dry the flowers myself. They are actually extremely cheap to buy and have an extremely long shelf life, so order a whole bunch and keep them around, ready to use when needed! I get mine here.

Now the ingredients:

Mix them all together in a bowl, in the order provided above. Start with the butter and sugar and mix until they have a white, fluffy texture. Add the rest, one by one and without ever stopping the mixer, until you reach the flour.

Once you are done, you will have a big ball of dough, soft to the touch but not sticking to the bowl. If it is still sticky, add more flour. If it is still too hard, a little bit of butter never hurt nobody.

Leave the dough to rest for half and hour and start preheating the oven at 180Âş. Then, spread the dough with the help of a rolling pin on a flat surface.

You can cut them as you want with any shape or form. Or you can half-*ss it like me and use a glass to cut it up into circles.

Now it’s the fun part! Add your store-NOBODY NEEDS TO KNOW-bought dried flowers as you like. Have fun with the placement of the petals and try to design different POV's with them! Don’t be afraid, if you don’t like the result you can always take them out and start again without wasting ingredients.

Lay a piece of wax paper on top of the finished, unbaked cookies and apply some pressure with a heavy tray for half and hour. Use this time to proudly pour yourself a big cup of wine because you’ve been so successful at adulting today.

oprah in the bathtub

When you start feeling tipsy, it's time to pop those babies in the oven for 45 minutes.

Now remember, edible flowers are always rather tangy. Cover them in icing sugar for a sweeter bite and a more delicate look!

And there you have it. A pretty simple, fail-proof recipe that is sure to impress with no stress.

So how about it, are you going to try making these?
