Candles were created back in 500 B.C. by the Romans with animal derivatives and fat called
Tallow.
Then many cultures started creating them for so many different uses
aside from a light source. A big thing now that we are in the 21st century are soy candles.
We also have variations of candles that can be used as skin care when broken down
because of how pure and organic the oils are which will not irritate the skin but help
moisturize. Candles are also used in various cultures and events. It can give significance when lit with a
purpose leaving an emotional sentiment behind the process. Candles can give us psychological pleasure
because of the scents we pick to light and enjoy. What was once a source to help us survive and guide us
in the night has now turned from a commodity to a leisurely self care product.
Our nose picks up beautiful fragrances that can excite us if it's new or comfort us
if it's a scent relative to a memory that makes us feel happy and safe. Then there
are the scents that make us feel like we are traveling or at a specific place because
of how it was formulated with key notes to create the atmosphere of the woods or hawaii.
It can help us use our imagination if we have never been there before or bring us back
to a place we have traveled and loved! My favorite candle scent is Balsam and Cedar.
Something about the fresh and woody quality of this fragrance reminds me of happy times
in my childhood and it also reminds me of nature. It's slightly sweet and the warm notes
give me a wrap around feeling all over my body which helps induce calm and relaxation.
Definitely a selective candle scent for some and a christmas associated candle scent for many.
The usage of candles really helps soothe the mind and the soul.Click π₯
