Your personal city guide

Paris by Mimi Thim

Since the first time I visited Paris as a child, I have been enchanted by the amazing city. I have had the privilege of visiting the city of light during all seasons, and have a penchant for visiting the city in early autumn. Paris has a lot to offer, whether you like art, literature, inspiring cafes and delicious pastries (Bonjour les croissants) there is something for you. For example, did you know that Paris has more than 400 gardens? C'est fantastique!

Paris was named the City of Light (Ville lumière) at the beginning of the nineteenth century after becoming the first city in Europe to use gas lighting to illuminate its streets. Read more about it at Guggenheim Bilbao and take a moment to admire their art. Paris is a city full of opportunities to explore many different art galleries. Pack some comfortable shoes and get ready to feel inspired. There is always something happening, day and night. One of my favourite things during the evening is when the city lights up, the sight of La Tour de Eiffel takes my breath away.

Paris has more to offer than lights, croissants and romance. There is something to see in every arrondissement (there are 20 to explore). That is why I created these personal guides to make your next trip to Paris extra special. No matter what you prefer, I have a hidden gem for you.
