My name is Gerlie and I am from the Philippines but currently living in the South of Spain. I am a teacher by profession, however I would like to shift in tech industry. The first time I learned how to code was when I joined a programming bootcamp organized by HackYourfuture Denmark. I had zero knowledge ofprogramming that's why I had a hard time digesting every bits of the lesson. However, that experience gave me the basic foundation about programming. Life was a rollercoaster and my programming journey was put on hold when the lockdown happened.I set aside programming and took a job as an EFL teacher. I had so much fun with my job until I realized that I really want to work from home so I could spend more time with my family. I am also influenced by my partner as he is also working in tech industry for more than a decade. I love the flexibility and the idea of working at home. Now I am relearning how to code and hopefully, will land a job in web development soon. Currently, I am finishing this website as part of my final project. I highly recommend taking programming course at SheCodes. I love how they structure the lesson and Matt is an incredible instructor as he explains each concept with realistic examples. I love the part where at the end of each lesson, you have to finish a challenge. In that way, you got the chance to practice what you just learned. SheCodes has various courses offered that are highly recommended.
