Bacalhau com natas (or in english, salt cod fish with cream) is a traditional Portuguese dish (and a
personal fav😋) that consists
of a delicious combination of potatoes, onions,
a béchamel-like
cream and
obviously the star of the dish: mouth-watering, salty and flaky cod fish; also, it’s usually topped with
some
bread
crumbs, cheese (which gives it it’s crispy and crumbly texture on top) the and some olives. I usually pair
it
with a
nice fresh lettuce and cucumber salad, which makes a delicious contrast with the warm creamy freshly made
bacalhau com
natas.
Although nobody knows who came up with this recipe, it is one of the most popular Portuguese dishes you
can
ask for. You
can find in any Portuguese household, restaurant, gathering, event, etc.
✨For anyone who is thinking about visiting Portugal, or just wants to have a taste of
portuguese cusine, I can assure you this dish is a
must-have!✨
