When I lived in Oman, it struck me how badly the animals are treated
there. Not that they are treated particularly well all over the world
(!) but the area in which I was living, had an insurmountable issue with
street cats. They were everywhere! Unneutered, badly treated and unloved
by everyone around them. I therefore decided, during my time there, that
I couldn't just walk past a suffering animal and was involved in many
community events to help with their TNR drive and to help individual
cats that happened to cross my path.
There are very few charities in Oman. It is mostly community effort.
There is however one charity called
Omani Paws
which is based in Muscat. They do a lot of work with the street animals
there. Please click on the link to go to their Facebook page and find
out more about their work.
