Web development, also known as website development, refers to the tasks associated with creating, building, and maintaining websites and web applications that run online on a browser. It may, however, also include web design, web programming, and database management. The three main types of web developemnt include: Front-end web development, Back-end web development, Full-stack web development.

I am a female from Nigeria and gender bias has been a challenge in most sectors in Nigeria especially the Technology space. According to an article “Nigerian Women and the Tech Space” by “This Day Life” which states that women in the Nigeria tech space make up just about 22 per cent of the industry workforce. Reasons for this include lack of accessible opportunities, cultural stereotypes, society’s male suitability for tech roles, etc. The tech space has a low number of women in it, yet we have thousands of women who have skills needed to contribute positively to any tech industry. Nigerian women are greatly underrepresented in the tech space, despite the recent efforts to include women in technology, the percentage of women in tech is still so low that it discourages some women to embark on choosing tech as a career.
