The Maluku Islands also known as The Moluccan is a group of islands in eastern Indonesia. The Islands were known as the Spice Islands because of it's many spices. Especially nutmeg, mace and cloves that where exclusively found there, the presence of which sparked colonial interest from Europe in te sixteenth century. The Moluccan Islands is not really a touristic destination yet. Most of the people visit the Moluccan Islands because of their roots and to visit family.
