This mountain park is located nine miles north of Oakland, Maryland contains some of Maryland's most breathtaking scenery. The Youghiogheny (yok-uh-gey-nee) River flows along the park's borders, passing through shaded rocky gorges and creating rippling rapids. Muddy Creek Falls is a crashing 53-foot waterfall - a spectacular sight. Tall hemlocks dominate the silent woods. Visitors to the park can walk the Canyon Trail which will take them past four gorgeous falls, over an easy 1 1/4 mile path.

This park is one of many I love to visit with my family. My daughter's first birthday party was held at the pavillion near the main trailhead. There are beautiful memories waiting to be made here among the trees.
