The forefront of Australia's fast growing Wine Industry

Grape Vines

The forefront of the Australian Wine industry, The Barossa Valley, located approx. 60km Northeast of Adelaide, is very quickly making a name for itself as one of the world’s best wine regions. What is it that allows the relatively new Australian Wine region to compete with the ‘Vino’ big leagues such as Italy, France and Spain that have been producing traditional and world-famous wines for centuries? Although a new wine region in comparison, the Barossa Valley is home to some of the oldest Shiraz vines in the world! Thanks to the German settlers in the region planting some still growing vines back in 1847. However the history of this region goes much further, please see the Acknowledgment of Country tab to discover more about the tradional owners of this land, the Peramangk People.
