NJ/NY Gotham FC is a professional women's soccer team based in Harrison, New Jersey. Founded in 2006 as Jersey Sky Blue, the team was known as Sky Blue FC from 2008 until 2020. In April 2021, Sky Blue officially changed its name to Gotham FC, "Gotham" being a nickname for New York City. Gotham FC's home Stadium is the "Red Bull Arena", wich has a capacity of 25,000. Women's football has kept growing over the past few years, so they have big names like, WNBA star Sue Bird, USWNT icon Carli Lloyd, NBA player Kevin Durant, and quarterback Eli Manning joining the ownership group in the last couple of years. Gotham will be losing 7 of its star players during the FIFA Women's World Cup hosted in Australia this year. Even though it will be tough, they are still hoping to lift the trophy at the end of the season because long time respected Captain, Ali Krieger will be retiring from football after playing professionally for 20 years.
