The entire concept of traveling has always been idolized with admiration and appreciation within our family. The travel bug was instilled within my sister and I at a young age. As United States born citizens with parents from Venezuela and Peru, and grandparents from Spain and Japan, we consider ourselves to be culturally diverse individuals. We were baptized as Catholics but follow Buddhist principles. We believe in God, yet we live with the intentions of ultimately reaching nirvana. Raised to maintain an open-minded perspective by spontaneously eccentric back-packing parents, we cultivated a fascination for culture, religion, travel, and people. We travel to understand the candid lifestyle of inhabitants from all around the world; we believe that eating, commuting, residing, and celebrating with the local people promotes human acknowledgment and cultural acceptance.
Every trip we take, we come back home with a new perspective on the world. Traveling the world while meeting diverse individuals is just utterly fascinating.
Vietnam, freakin’ Vietnam was one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been to. This picture was taken in our room from the boat that took us venturing along the majestic rocks of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. The people were extremely kind with probably the best sense of humor ever. During this trip we got to see some monkeys, cook traditional Vietnamese cuisine, explore the caves that were “home” to “King Kong”, and meditate on the boat’s terrace overlooking the panoramic view of Vietnam. Allowing ourselves to bask in the radiating tranquility of scenic Halong Bay, we found peace of mind. Vietnam awoke our senses to a world beyond our own.
